EACR’s Mike Gold Medal Award 2022 to Cédric Blanpain

The European Association for Cancer Research’s Mike Price Gold Medal Award is a biennial award recognising a senior researcher who has made exceptional contributions to the progress of cancer research in Europe.

Cédric Blanpain (WELBIO – ULB) is the winner of the 2022 Mike Price Gold Medal Award for contributing to seminal discoveries in the roles of stem cells during development, homeostasis and cancer, as well as unravelling the mechanisms regulating the tumor states responsible for tumor growth, metastasis and resistance to anti-cancer therapy.

Previous winners include Mike Stratton, Director of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and Harrald zur Hausen, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
