Mission
The WEL Research Institute supports strategic research of excellence within its departments and the translation of disruptive innovations for an impact in health and sustainable transition.
Structure and management
The WEL Research Institute is a non-profit organization (a.s.b.l.) managed by a Board of Directors. The day-to-day management is delegated to the Managing Director. The governance of the WEL Research Institute a.s.b.l. is based on its bylaws.
Implementation
The selection of the research programmes, which emanate from the universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, as well as their financial management, are carried out via the FRFS, a specialised fund of the FNRS.
The valorisation of intellectual property is led by the WEL Research Institute, in partnership with KTO representatives, in the form of individualised support for the researchers, from inception of their programme, to integrate the valorisation process into the scientific development of the research programme.
