The WEL Research Institute and the FRFS are pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 “WEL-T Investigator Programme” call, funded by the Walloon Region. The programme supports strategic fundamental scientific research programmes in the fields of engineering, chemistry, and physics.

Through WEL-T (Walloon ExceLlence in Technology), the objective is to foster the emergence of breakthrough innovations and contribute to the development of industrial applications that support the sustainable transition.

Support for Ambitious Research Programmes

The WEL-T Investigator Programme is open to researchers from universities within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, whether they are already established in their field (Advanced Grants) or at an early stage of their academic career (Starting Grants).

This call provides a new opportunity to develop a strategic research programme addressing the challenges of the sustainable transition and to explore novel approaches, technologies, or knowledge that may contribute to the innovations of tomorrow.

Submit Your Programme Proposal

Are you conducting research in engineering, chemistry, or physics that aligns with this vision?

The WEL Research Institute and the FRFS invite you to submit your programme proposal.

Applications must be submitted no later than 5 November 2026 via the FNRS e-space platform.

Applications must be submitted exclusively in English.
